I'm a social scientist, licensed clinician, educator, and consultant with more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of academia, public health, workforce development, and social justice and facilitating individual, group, and system-level change within mental health, housing, substance use, and HIV/AIDS services. I have designed and conducted independent research and published peer reviewed articles. At the national level, I contributed as a subject matter expert to the development of Practice Guidelines for Peer Support Specialists and Supervisors, Model Standards for Peer Support Certification, and a Recovery Research Agenda.

Dr. Edwards's publications include research on job satisfaction, supervision, workforce trends during the Covid-19 pandemic; recently co-edited “What It Takes: Wisdom from Peer Support Specialists and Supervisors"; and book chapters, "On Surviving Race with Allies: Disability, Race / Ethnicity, and Human Rights" in Advances in Research Ethics and Integrity Vol 11 and "Practice with the Black LGBTQ+ Community" in Practice with the LGBTQ+ Community: The Intersection of History, Health, Mental Health, and Policy Factors.
